Since its founding in 1978, Sanibell has transformed itself from a modest local wholesaler to a prominent and international player in the field of bathroom furniture, washbasins, mirrors and taps. Starting in Rotterdam and continually expanding across borders, we have reached new milestones time and again. Over the years we have expanded not only our product range, but also our presence in the sanitaryware world.
1978
Rotterdam is where Sanibell was founded. In this bustling port city was born the business idea that would develop into a prominent name in the plumbing industry. Sanibell. Originally founded as a wholesaler and extension of retailer and sanitary specialist Eteb Bathrooms.
1985
By obtaining an exclusive importership in the field of porcelain products, Sanibell expanded the product range to include sanitary solutions for projects, commercial and public areas. This gave Sanibell the opportunity to broaden their expertise and enter new markets.
2002
Attracted by the growing attention to design, Sanibell consciously chose to develop bathroom furniture. This development was prompted by trends in the market and the growing demand for aesthetic solutions. With an eye for design and functionality, Sanibell enriched the bathroom experience. This strategic move opened new doors in the market.
2013
Growth continues and Sanibell moves to new location in Oud-Beijerland. The move to this location marked an important moment of renewal for the company. Oud-Beijerland offered not only modern and sustainable distribution facilities, but also strategic advantages.
2017
With steady growth and eyes on the ever-growing and dynamic market demand, the existing warehouse was forced to expand into a space with as many as 4,500 pallet spaces.
2018
At Sanibell, in 2018 we celebrate not only our 40th anniversary, but also our expansion into new international markets. In that year, we also decided to expand our borders. Literally and figuratively. Sanibell started exporting to Belgium and Germany.
2020
Exports continue to expand. A sales office in Denmark and exports to the other Scandinavian countries are a reality. Doubling the amount of square meters of storage space with four external premises in the Hoekschewaard was an urgent necessity if you want to continue delivering from stock.
2021
Sanibell is always looking for ways to improve efficiency and expand its product range. With the construction of a centrally located distribution hub and sales office in Poland, a nice efficiency improvement has been made. With an impressive area of 20,000 m2, here the products are ready to be distributed to the various European branches.
2023
This year is entirely devoted to participation in ISH, the international sanitary trade fair in Frankfurt. There, contacts are being made with potential distributors to expand export activities in Europe. The opening of the distribution hub in Poland is a fact. In terms of product expansions, progress has also been made with the introduction of IVY®, our new brand of bathroom faucets…. By the beginning of 2024, the warehouses will be full of new and complete series of bathroom taps of our own brand IVY.
2024
Plans for further growth and logistics efficiency become concrete with the purchase of a plot of building land (41,000m2) for the construction of a new distribution center, office and Inspiration Center in Oud-Beijerland.
2025
Construction of the new 28,000-square-foot warehouse is now at an advanced stage. In the first quarter of 2026, we expect the new distribution center to be completed. The new office will soon follow after that.
